Hey Jose, most people will need unable to rack the bar with a snatch grip. Usually, only athletes at the extremes do this. For example really big and wide individuals might not have much difference in their grips, while very narrow and small athletes might not have the wingspan to change their grip very much. That said, if you are in the middle then I recommend working on driving air into your chest and between the shoulder blades to reduce the arm bend.

may i ask if is it ok that my clean grip is almost the same as my snatch grip because when i used the clean grip which is a fist wdith from shoulder im still experiencing early arm bend, but if I widen my clean grip as nearly the same as my snatch grip I no longer experiencing early arm bend.

is it still ok if my clean grip is that wide?

Hello Jose, it is a fluid motion but you need to finish the deadlift before before extension. Check out my black book: A Visual Guide to Technique for more info.

In reply to <a href="https://chineseweightlifting.com/how-to-power-clean/#comment-18712">Ma Strength</a>.

so this means that before initiating the extension, i should first drag the barbell at the power point, then once at the power point ( which is my clean deadlift lock out) this is the position were i can start the extension is this correct?

Hey Jose, you want to drag the bar to the same height as your deadlift lockout. This height maximizes the work from the legs.

i notice that each weightlifter when starting on the extension some start at the mid thigh and some start dragging the barbell to the power point then extend.

i noticed that i can generate much power to my extension when i start to extend from mid thigh.

is this ok that i start my extension from the mid thigh or should I drag the barbell to the power point and extend from the power point?
